We are dedicated to closing the gender gap in STEM and actively support the advancement of women in Aeronautics. For 2025 entry, we are offering a generous bursary for a talented undergraduate female student who exhibits outstanding academic excellence in the admissions process.
This award has been made possible thanks to the kind donation by Imperial Alumnus Christopher Burke.

Value: £700 per month, for up to four years of study (total award value: £31,500). Our five-year degrees for MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year abroad and MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year in industry can be supported, but funding will only be available for the four academic years taught full-time at Imperial.
One bursary is available for 2025 entry.
Eligibility:
- Female students who apply for the MEng Aeronautical Engineering degree for 2025 entry and who make Imperial their firm choice (conditional firm)
- Enrol on to our MEng Aeronautical Engineering degree in September 2025
- Make satisfactory progress each year of the degree, to continue receiving subsequent years’ funding
How to apply: There is no separate application process for this bursary. Eligible candidates who receive an offer for the MEng Aeronautical Engineering degree will be automatically considered for this award.
Deadline: Candidates need to apply for the H401 MEng Aeronautical Engineering degree by the UCAS deadline of 29 January 2025 – 18.00 UK time and make Imperial MEng Aeronautical Engineering their firm choice by 4 June 2025.
The successful candidate will receive notification that they have been nominated for the bursary no later than Thursday, 31st July 2025.
