Hungarian Government Scholarships for International Students

Hungarian Government Scholarships for International Students

Stipendium Hungaricum, the Hungarian government’s prestigious international scholarships programme, provides scholarships that enable outstanding students from more than 100 countries, including 16 Arab countries, to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies in Hungary. Scholars receive full funding to cover tuition and other expenses while studying.

Applicants may choose among 800 degree programmes covering all higher-education fields at all degree levels. However, not all fields and study programmes are available to all applicants. The agreements between Hungary and the sending partner countries determine which fields and study programmes applicants are eligible for. Check the Sending Partners page to learn the details for your country.

The scholarship programme aims to create a vibrant multicultural environment that enriches the educational experience for all participants. International students not only gain access to high-quality education but also immerse themselves in Hungary’s rich cultural heritage and history.

Stipendium Hungaricum is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. This programme is based on the mutual agreement of Hungary signed with the sending educational partner of the respective countries. The geographical scope of the programme has been increasing each year.
