Imperial College Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Scholarship in Aeronautical Engineering

In partnership with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 team, we are excited to launch the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Scholarship, created to increase opportunities in motorsport for under-represented groups.

The scholarship will support talented aspiring Aeronautical Engineers in the Department of Aeronautics where our undergraduate students study the breadth of aerospace engineering disciplines and gain computational and analytical skills and the knowledge and experience required in industries such as motorsport.

Throughout their degree, the scholar will have the opportunity to meet Mercedes team members and gain expert insight that will supplement their education.

Value: Full tuition fees and a living allowance for four years. Our five-year degrees for MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year abroad and MEng Aeronautical Engineering with a year in industry can be supported, but funding will only be available for the four academic years taught full-time at Imperial.

Number of scholarships available: One for 2025-entry

Eligibility: Home students from under-represented groups. As this is a new scholarship for 2025 entry, further information on the under-represented criteria will be updated here soon.

How to apply: To apply for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Scholarship, you need to:

  1. Apply via UCAS for our H401 MEng Aeronautical Engineering course by 18:00 GMT on 29 January 2025. If you’re unsure of how to apply, see the step-by-step guide. Please note that for Aeronautical Engineering, an ESAT Test must also be sat with test registration closing on 23 December 2024.
  2. Receive an offer of a place for 2025 entry.
  3. We will send communications to all eligible offer-holders once places have been confirmed including full details of this scholarship and a scholarship application form.
